The Departments of Health & Human Services, Labor, and Treasury have issued final wellness program rules. The new final rules are based on the existing HIPAA wellness rules and the requirements contained in proposed rules issued in November 2012. The amount of an incentive employers can provide has been significantly increased. However, the final rules contain new requirements that make employers redesign many existing wellness programs to include “health contingent” components. This session will help employers understand how the new rules affect their wellness initiatives.
